troubles on wheelies

Hey everyone;

Been having some troubles with my wheelies. I have no trouble getting the wheel off the ground, the problem I'm having is that I'm getting up crooked. Instead of a nice smooth straight line, either my bars go crooked or worse; the whole bike. I'm covering my rear brake just in case, but any pointers or ideas of what I'm doing wrong?

I'm not no pro when it comes to wheelies but maybe lowering the tire pressure might help

Are you sitting down or standing up.. are you doing first or 2nd gear wheelies..

if your standing up.. try standing staggered, Also try lowering your tire pressure to 22.. thats what i run on.

Herse were i started... this is were the bike is at about 4000rpm.

If your bars are twisting I would say that you are yanking it up instead of letting the bike do the work. Just let the bike come up underneath you and cover your back brake.

Well T90 is a bit right.. he doesn't give you any hints..

Bounce the bike.. and on the up-spring grip it and rip it* slip your clutch* and let her jump up...

What chain and sprockets are you running.. i got a set for sale with 800kms on them good chain and sprockets for a 00-03 gsxr.

Yeah, slip the clutch, ride your back brake until you have it figured out how high you wanna come up. Slow it down a bit, start rolling it slower to get the feel for balance point instead of having to keep the power on to keep it up.

Wheelies are something you should have on lock before you play on the street. Find a lot, roll slow stand up, right foot covering the rear, left on the passenger peg, blip the throttle, drop the clutch, start small and keep adding throttle until you get it to a height you can ride a bit. If it comes too high or you shit your pants, tap the back brake and you will mouse trap the bike, the front will come down fast, just prepare yourself so you dont go over the bars.

What bike are you running and what do you have for protection? Minimum you should have would be frame sliders, spool sliders and bar end sliders, if you dont want a full on stunt bike but want to screw around without trashing your ride look into race rails, they offer more protection for your beautiful, but expensive plastics.

Thats a good bike, but why did you chose a gixxer to stunt? WHy not an F4i or 600rr or 636? The Gixxer is a bitch of a bike to stunt on, the older ones like yours are better than the newer ones like mine (K7 with herky jerky throttle) but still are one of the more difficult bikes to stunt.

Not really.. I like them.. There a mean aggressive bike.. and there easy to mod.. the yamahas and hondas are all plastic and i'm not a fan of the kawi.. there tanks and everything..

The only problem we have is the oil pick up is in the front.. so i used to get a FI light when doing 2 mile long wheelies and i'd starve it of oil.. now i just fill a extra half quarter and I ride 2-3 mile long no problem..

The k7 is not a bad bike.. what is it a 600,750 or 1000.. what set up are you running?

I have the 750. Nothing really, I stunt stock.

well thats fine and dandy for highways.. but nothing serious.
